Does age matter to you?

I'm 15 and my boyfriend is almost 20 and we've been together for almost 2 years now? I'm really, really happy and we don't have sex so he definitely doesn't use me. But I need some honest opinions. Do you think this is okay?

As a father, I don't think its right, but its your parents opinion that counts. Do they know?

They know & they approve. I knew him before we started dating. He was a friend of the whole family and they all love and trust him.

As a mother I find it strange, neither can I imagine what an 18 year old would find interesting in a 13 year old and a 20 year old in a 15 year old.

As a citizen I think it's disgusting, I always think that's disgusting. Is it even called dating or babysitting think about it a minor with a adult plain disgusting.

I find it hard to believe that your parents are okay with this. You're a child. He's an adult. No matter how long you've known him, unless he has the mentality of a child, there's no way that you two could have anything in common. Also, it's morally wrong, and if your parents aren't okay with it (if they are then they need serious help), it's illegal as well.

So no, I don't think it's okay. If a 20 year old came after my 15 year old daughter he'd be in jail so fast he wouldn't know what hit him.

You're too young to know what's good for you. That's why parents are supposed to step in and protect you from predators. The fact that you say that your parents are okay with this, and have been since you were 13, and he was 18, is just sick. So no, I don't think this is okay, no matter what the circumstances are. It's wrong on every level.

Is your idea of "together" and "dating" the same as your parents' idea of it?

Do your parents think he is just some family friend taking you out to Dairy Queen for ice cream or to see a movie like Hugo or Twilight, but you (and maybe he) consider it a date? Are you scamming your parents?

Good question. Seeing as this is a family friend, maybe the parents think that this 20 year old is more a brother type then a boyfriend type, which is why they're allowing their child to hang out with him.

So, do the parents really know that you're dating this 20 year old adult, or do they assume that you two are friends, more brother and sister? I ask because I don't know any parents that would be okay with their child dating an adult.
