Pregnancy is still a possibility. I was like you, when I was pregnant with each of my pregnancies, I tested positive immediately. But I've since learned that that's not the norm for most women.

Are you testing in the morning, with your first urine of the day? Have you considered going for a more accurate blood test?

It could be that your period is just off this month. You stated that you're feeling ill. Well it could be that you're in fact ill, which can throw off your period. It could be stress, medication, weight loss, weight gain, and any number of other things that are causing a delay.

Wait another week, even two, and then test again. If it's still negative then wait and see what happens when your next scheduled period is due. If you miss that one as well then re-test, or go for a blood test.

All the best to you.

BIRTH CONTROL SRY TYPO NOT BECAUSE

Ah. Well, if you missed a few pills, or there were other birth control mishaps throughout the month, then pregnancy is definitely a big possibility. But, if you're on the pill, missing a few pills could also be the reason your period is off. This is medication. Don't take it properly and it will effect your body.

If you really don't want to get pregnant again right now, then missing pills is not the way to go about it. I don't want to lecture you, but, missing pills is a very risky game. There's no birth control method that's 100% effective, but in order for it to be as effective as it can be, you have to use it properly.

If you're having trouble remember your pills perhaps you should talk to your doctor about another form of birth control that would be easier for you to remember.

But right now you have to find out if missing these pills has resulted in pregnancy. My advice in the first post still stands. Unfortunately there's really no way for us to tell you what's going on. It could be any of the scenarios I mentioned, or something else completely. Right now it's a waiting game, which I know isn't ideal, but it's the boat you're in.

You'll have to wait and see. That's really your only option.

You're welcome.

A blood test would be the best way to go, but I know a lot of people can't afford to go do it. If you can, then go for it. It's the most accurate test you can get, and it will give you answers sooner rather than later.

Let us know how it works out.

I really wish you all the best. :)

Please keep me posted. It does sound like you're starting your period. The dark brown is old blood, which sometimes happens if your period is delayed, especially because you skipped pills. But, I'm glad you went in for a blood test, that's the most accurate test you can get.

Crossing my fingers for you. :)

Blood test came back negative.. The bleeding has also stopped it was brown the whole time and what was red wasn't clots it was more like say you had blown your nose then separated the tissue but light red not really sure what that's about the nurse that I had spoken with told me to wait a week if I hadn't received what seems like a period and take another hpt to see if anything shows up

The fact that the blood test was negative sounds like good news to me.

It sounds like you're just having an off month, and that's likely because of the skipped pills.

Just remember, birth control isn't 100%, but it's even less effective if you don't use it properly, and with the pill, missing pills will mess with your system.

It sounds like you may have dodged the bullet this time, but you are playing with a loaded gun if you continue to skip pills.

I have a friend that got pregnant while on the pill, used a condom, suffering from polycystic ovarian syndrome, only has one ovary. Doctor said she'd never have children of her own. She has 3, all conceived while on birth control, on top of her other issues.

Birth control reduces the chances, but it doesn't eliminate them. If you don't use it correctly, well, you're having unprotected sex. Birth control is only as good as the person using it. Don't use it correctly and it won't even give you the percentage of protection it offers.

I doubt you'd put a 6 shooter gun to your head, pull the trigger five times, if you knew there was only one bullet in it. Right? Good chance you'll get shot. Well, missing pills is the same as playing Russian roulette. Right now, for all intents and purposes, you're not practicing safe sex, you're having unprotected sex, because you're not using your birth control properly. And that's the reason most people get pregnant while on birth control. Human error. :(

If the pills are too difficult to remember taking, then talk to your doctor. There are shots available, ones you only need to take every 3 months. Maybe that would be easier for you.

I wish you the best of luck. :)

I appreciate the advice... Ive been getting more symptoms since the last I talked to you my breasts have outgrown my bras... sex has more of a good sensation that before my husband says that it feels deeper than before I'm getting little pinkish lines on breast also I'm losing the ability to stomach almost every food also I feel as if something is taking up space down there and I'm having what feels like a muscle stretching about 3 inches from my naval towards my side I am patiently awaiting tomorrow morning for a retest to see what it says they tried to put me on a medicine to make me start my cycle however I refused.. I know what they are saying are facts from the blood test but I know you know the feeling I'm speaking of when I say I in general just feel pregnant I'm having acne breakouts more lately which I'm not prone to even when I've been stressed out of my mind and my pants have felt more snug than before I don't need my belt to keep them up at work anymore also I've been having gas, burping more than anything not sure but I will keep you posted I'm now 15 days past my due period also I have been more emotional I was talking to my husband and it wasn't a depressing conversation but I started to cry... and I've been doing it over anything from love movies to a song that I have heard for over and over again for some time and I usually don't I very much feel that the blood test was taken too early but I haven't tested since then waiting it out I guess you could say..

I do know the feeling, and I won't dismiss that feeling at all, but I do want you to keep in mind that every symptom you described is also a symptom of PMS, or the flu.

I have to ask, because I'm getting this feeling from your posts, would you be a bit happy if you are indeed pregnant? It sounds to me like this wouldn't necessarily be bad news. Maybe not planned, or expected, but not necessarily something you'd be upset about. Am I right about that?

I would wait until your next period is due. If it doesn't come then retest. Blood tests are more accurate than a urine test, but even blood tests can give a false negative.

I know that waiting is hard, but that's really your only option right now. To be on the safe side I would start taking prenatal vitamins. If you're not pregnant then they won't hurt you at all, but if you are pregnant they can make a huge difference for your unborn child.

Please continue to keep me posted. I'm crossing my fingers that this turns out the way you want it to, no matter what that is. :)
