Can the amount of water a woman consumes change the way her cervical mucus becomes during ovulation?

Hi KatrinaCaitlin,

There is some thought that drinking more fluids can play a role in the amount of cervical mucus. You don't need to go over the top with it, but making sure you well hydrated can't hurt. If the amount is truly an issue, you can speak to your midwife or doctor about some supplemental ways of inducing cervical mucus.

Rarely is a lack of cervical mucus a problem, but do keep in mind that recent use of certain cold medicines can be drying as well.. If you don't notice a change to more fluid mucus leading up to suspected ovulation, you may need to do an internal check for change. You can also check for changes in cervical position at the same time as this is another way to determine when your body is preparing for ovulation.
