May I inquire about your religious and spiritual beliefs/practices?
How long have you been experiencing this? Are you sure this is a dream? Do you live alone?

Maybe you have something going on psychologically? Like something you're holding in, something you want to tell someone but haven't and you're dreams are telling you that you need to get it out. Parents are someone to go to for safety, maybe their sitting and watching is a sign that they can't help you anymore and you have to speak on your own? Just thoughts.
It could also be sleep paralysis, I've experienced this before. Are you any bit awake when u can't speak and feel held down?

I think that you are going through a transition to adulthood that is causing worry deep inside. You may be getting tiny signals from your parents that it's time to get a place of your own, especially if your girlfriend is there too (in the dream your parents just watch). You may be thinking it too. Your generation has a very tough time with this because the economy is still pretty bad and moving out on your own is still expensive. Is there any truth to this, for you?
I'm 65 and haven't had a dream like this since I was your age. I think I had more of them when I was much younger than you. You think you are awake when you aren't, of course. It just seems so real because it's in your house, your room, your bed.
