Our handyman was supposed to install a Temptrol shower unit in an outdoor shower that had separate hot & cold controls previously. He bought a knock-off brand w/ a cheap plastic valve controller but my problem & question concerns his copper piping connections. He cobbled lengths of copper pipe onto the original older sections, going from a 6-inch separation, where the pipes came through the wall, to maybe 9 to 10-inch separation, where the pipes are soldered onto the Temptrol knock-off. It looks like this creates stress & a bending at the elbow. Will this be a problem down the road? Did he screw up by not keeping the lengths of tubing parallel? Thanks. SWS

Honestly, I wouldn't worry about it. There is a little give in copper piping and fittings. As long as the solder joints are good, there shouldn't be a problem.
