I was hanging out with these 2 guys, and they have lots off police records, and we were walking around at night... And them 2 both decided to go steal at ut and a truck. I was waiting in the bush looking out for the cops and for any cars that drove by, and I would tell them whenever someone was coming so they could stop and hide. And once they got those vehicles out of that place, I ran into the ut and then we all drove away into another town,. And I'm just wondering, a few of my mattes have said that I could go to jail to if we ever did get caught cause I was helping the, I'm not scared, but is that true?

Yes. You are an accessory at the very least. You could even be charged with equal crimes as they get, but some of it will depend on your criminal history vs theirs, if you have a good enough lawyer. What's wrong with being scared? It's smart to be scared, so you'll think twice about doing this.

And do you see how 'lots of police records' and 'if we ever did get caught' don't go together?

Don't worry, when they get caught they will sing like birds and you can share cells close to each other.

I'm curious: what's an ut? And what country are you in?

I'm from Australia.
And theyy I've only had one warning beforehand. And them 2 guys, have the most police records in that town. So tey are well-known. Ha. But we didn't get caught, so I guess it's fine.

So thinks every criminal right before they get picked up. This isn't public mischief. You've entered the big time with this one.

No its not fine! I'm really bothered by your attitude. You don't seem to care that you broke the law (and yes YOU broke the law). You don't seem to care about the person' who's car was ripped off. You don't seem to care about the reputation you will get hanging with criminals. You just seem to care whether you got caught. And the fact that you didn't seems to have emboldened you. So I can see you committing more crimes. Maybe this one won't land on your doorstep, but you will, someday get caught if you don't change.

Gracie, how old are you and how long ago did this event occur?

You seem oblivious to the fact that you are discussing this with your 'mates' who could be telling other people. There is also a Crime Stoppers program in Australia. Anyone could turn you in and get a reward. Just because you haven't been arrested yet, doesn't mean you won't be.

You helped steal two vehicles. You had an active part in the crime. Even if there isn't jail time, an arrest and conviction could cause you problems for the rest of your life.

You have one warning. It was a chance to straighten up and stay out of trouble. What did you do? You get involved with two of the biggest troublemakers in your area. You help plan and carry out the theft of two vehicles. You appear to show no remorse. You seem like you are ready to do it again. Some judges like to make examples out of people who show the attitude you have displayed so far.

Take the fact that you haven't been arrested yet as a second chance. Turn your attitude and your life around. Find a safer and less illegal way to have fun. If you don't then the next time you get involved in a crime, you might not be so lucky.
