How can I get a service manual for a Scotts S1642. I have a problem starting the mower. I have narrowed it down to the "magneto" as its called by one individual and I think it goes by ignition as well. It's the part the spark plug cable comes from on the engine. I need to order one, have replaced everything else.

You have one of the two Kohler CV16S engines for that model. The Deere part # is M1436233 module or Kohler part # 12 584 17S module, ignition. For an engine manual, go to:

There you can get both the engine's owners and service manuals. Just make sure to get one that covers the CV16. And for parts breakdown, go to:
