I'm 17, and have had my period since I was 13. My cycle had gotten pretty regular to where I would get my period pretty much exactly a month after the last. Recently, however (only the past three) my periods have been coming extremely late, about a week and a half to even two weeks late each time. I'm not sexually active. I'm an athlete, but I always have been, so there isn't much of a difference in how much I've been exercising. What could be the reason for this? Is there anything I should be worried about?

Hi Emarooful,
Are they two weeks later each month from the previous month, or are they now about two weeks later from what they used to be?
In the teen years, cycles can sometimes be irregular as you go through a good deal of hormonal changes, but you could have also just shifted to a new normal if they are still roughly the same number of days from one cycle to the next. If you can recall, how many days were your cycles for the last few months... as in from day one of a period until the day before the next period starts?
Odds are you have nothing to worry about, but if you still do, you could always check with your doctor.
