Hi,

I am starting a new business (LLC). My company is incorporated in Delaware but I will be doing business (selling products) in different States. I know I have to get the Federal and State tax ID from Delaware to get the business License. My questions are:

Do I need to get the business licenses from all the states that I plan to do business in?

I am assuming that the Federal tax ID remains the same no matter where I do bsiness, but do I need a different State tax ID depending on the state I do business in?

Thank you

Different states have different requirements, but, most of the time, if you have NOT estabished a place of business in the state, you are NOT required to get a business license for the county/state where you are selling products.

However, the state MAY require that you collect sales taxes even if the sales are done via mail order.
