I know I am not nuts but that's how the world lables people like me. Am I the only one with this problem. If I drink water I feel sick. I can manage it if its really cold and I put dilute juice in it. If I smell tea I get a bad headacheand I want to vomit, but that's not my only problem. I can't eat anything boiled in water. . If I do I have to have a glass of juice and after 2 forkfulls I have to drink juice to push it down. Within an hour up it comes never fails. Can't eat potatoes, cabbage, carrots etc. If I cook pasta or rice I have to cook them in half milk or stock.I have always been this way, even as a child I only ever ate a sandwich for dinner. Has anyone out there the same symptoms or am I alone in this one.

You had asked this on March 10th and had gotten a good answer from joypulv (but never replied to her questions) --

"Sure, you could have an allergy to something in YOUR tap water.

How old are you and where do you live?

One problem with this question is that you are consuming water all day long, in the juices and foods you eat, whether fruit or vegetables or prepared products. So you can't say that you can't drink water. You'd have been dead a long time ago.

You need to do some experimenting before you start paying for expensive tests of a very rare condition. Boil some potatoes in a good bottled spring water, or even distilled water.

Ask the water dept what goes into the water--lye and flouride and such. Yes lye, it is added to kill bacteria and is considered OK in small amounts. Yes it's the same stuff that goes into drain cleaners.

Answer back what you find out."

It's better just to leave both alone. I'll add a link to this thread.

Eat/drink anything with liquids -- soup, juices, broth, coffee, tea, etc. Drink as much as you can each day. Dark urine means you are not getting enough liquids.

I have diabitis and high blood pressure so I have always tried to controle my intake of these as I retain fluid and have to watch my blood sugars. That's why I want to be able to drink water without feeling sick but I guess I have been thinking backwards. Thanks for the advice I can see now my body is screaming out for fluids. Never thought of dehydration because I drink fluids every day but I guess not enough. Thanks again.

Are you on meds for the diabetes and bp?

Ask your doctor or pharmacist for the names of flavored drink mixes you can stir into water. Would that work?

Yea. Betablockers and insilin injections.

Like drinks to balance the electrolites like tim suggested. We are so limited here in ireland. The pharmacists won't sell you anything unless perscribed by a doctor if you have any medical condition. But I will try to get something as I now know what might be the cause. Will let you know the outcome and thanks again. Happy Paddy's Day from the Emerald Isle.
