I received a voice message that I need to be in court in a couple of days, being a Friday a started to look for the judgement notice and found it in a heap of papers in a box. It was for a tool rental that my sales rep at that time signed for. When the supplier contacted me, he had to explain to me the type of tool it was and what it looked like. Now I realize that it was used on one of my installations so I need to pay him. The letter was given to an employee of mine and he put it on my table. I am not sure whether he told me about it. Its not a large amount. Can I pay it before I have to go to court. I need to be in court in four days. How do I avoid a judgement?

Call the lawyers office and request a settlement. They may or may not tack on extra "legal" fees. But it wouldn't hurt to call.

Yes, call and talk to their attorney ( but show up for court in case they still try something.
If it has already went to their attorney, most likely their will be legal fees and even court filing costs added now.
