Hey I'm 13 and my period is really havey I get clots every time! Its always been havey and I always leak through witch is embarrassing since I live with my dad but now I go up to my mums on my period to share the embarrassment! My mums friend was helping me with the cleaning yesterday and saw my blood and she knew I was on havey she said that even though the pill is for sex.. but it helps ballence your period.. I'm wondering if that's a good idea it sounds good! But will it effect when I have sex for the first time? I'm a little scared but I need to know if it's a good idea, my mum thinks it is?

You're a bit young to be going on the pill. This is something you'll have to discuss with a doctor. The fact is, most girls experience very uncomfortable periods when they first start menstruating. This will even out. Your periods will become more "normal" as you get older.

The pill won't have any effect on your first time, which I really hope isn't for many many many many more years. But it is medication, and unless there's a medical reason for you to be on it, I really wouldn't recommend it for a 13 year old child.
