NaNaMa,

Welcome to this beautiful site, first!

Can you please tell me what is exactly the statement? Where have you read it and what is it like?

I think it is a particular human gene. It was part of a powerpoint presentation at a lecture.

O, NaNaMa,

It indicates a particular series. Here, 16.2 specifies the gene number and 11 indicates the series. Still, if you have any question, doubt or apprehension, feel free to ask here.

The 16.2p11 terminology refers to a region on the short arm (p) of chromosome 16.
