I need a bondsman
( I think) to approve my title... I bought a car but the guy I brought the car from will not go transfer the title in his name and properly sell it to me and now he won't answer my calls or text I've had the car for a little over a yr now the DMV told me to do a bonded title and have state police run vin but they said I needed to go thu a bondsmen, now my question is why do I need to do this and do they have any in little rock,AR

The DMV regulations apparently require you to do this so that, if the car turns out to be stolen, someone with money will be available to straighten it all out.

I don't think you want a "bondsman", i.e.: one who deals in bail bonds. What you need is a commercial bond available through an insurance company.

Yes this will be a bond so that if it latter turns out that the car really belonged to someone else and they come after you, you are free and clear.
In fact you are lucky this will even happen, since without a title signed, you have not bought a car yet and in many places you would just have to sue the other person

Which of course is the other option, you sue the other person for your money back.

Below are the forms and a company that does the bonds
