New Cub Cadet deck spindle assembly doesn't have grease fitting like old one... Do I need to shoot grease in there somewhere before I put everything back together?
----
I replaced a spindle assembly on my deck and ordered the supposed correct part number. It matches up to the old assemblies except the bolt holes were not tapped and there is no grease fitting. I tapped the holes and got it installed OK. I then looked for the grease fitting to pump some grease in there before I put the deck back on but there is not a fitting on the outside of the assembly like my old ones. I took the pulley off and pulled the spindle out of the middle of the assembly and there's a little cylinder in there that moves around... I guess it's a spacer for the upper and lower ball bearings. Do I just move that aside and shoot grease all around it to fill up the assembly or does the assembly not need grease in there? Thanks.

Most new ones are not tapped , And yes just fill the inside with grease.
