I am 25 weeks pregnant and I feel a cold coming on. Can I take Thera Flu Cold and Cough? I was told I could take Tylenol Cold and Sinus. Is that the same thing?

Best thing, since you are just starting to feel the symptoms, would be to start drinking plenty of fluids, try the old stand-by of hot water with honey and lemon, and get extra rest. If it is just a feeling of nasal congestion, it may actually be due to hormones in pregnancy and not a cold. A nasal saline spray is sometimes recommended for nasal congestion due to a cold. Just be sure there are no additional ingredients in the formula used.

Both the Thera Flu and the Tylenol Cold have some ingredients that are likely safe although not tested in pregnancy... so either should be used sparingly and short term if they become necessary. Best to check with your doctor or midwife as they may prefer that you use one over the other or perhaps another product altogether.
