I lost the key to my 2000 Toyota Duet
I have no spare
The car has an immobilizer so I cannot move it
From where can I order a new key? I need an address

Try the Toyota website; I think you can order a new key so long as you have proof of ownership of the vehicle.. they'll probably charge an arm and a leg though.

Most lock smiths should be able to make one if you have the serial number of the vechile. But as stated, they will require proof of ownership of the vechile.

Another possibility is, depending on where you live, you might want to call your local Toyota dealership and speak to someone at their service desk tomorrow morning. They might have a more immediate solution to your problem. If not, they can tell you exactly what needs to be done. They can order the key or change out the cylinder for you.

Unfortunately you probably won't be able to get a replacement from a locksmith because the key will be coded - they can make the key but it won't work unless you can provide the code (and Toyota aren't likely to give you the code unless you buy the key from them).

Yes, LD, I agree. Chuck, unfortunately the days of a locksmith simply changing out a cylinder or creating a new key when this happens is long gone. Sigh, I do remember those days,. ;)

Do you have the master key. Or do you have nothing at all?
