I purchased this home less than a month ago. I did have a home inspection which seemed to miss many things. I have noticed there is a bulge in the wall where the wall literally bulges outward. I have also noticed that there are cracks in the molding at the top of my back door as well as my doorway into my washer and dryer area. There are cracks by my stair way that are like a spider from the corner that grow up and around one spot. I also hear many really weird and loud popping noises coming from my kitchen. The upstairs has a problem with the room over the garage... The doorway at the top is not level and the door would not close, after putting a screw into the door frame the wall has cracked in a diagonal across the wall from that point. There are also at least 20 nail pops throughout the house. I believe there is a major foundation issue however my husband seems to think I am crazy. My house was built in 95 and is on a slab, it also had a tree come through the attic in a hurricane 3 years ago.

How visible is the slab, from the outside and the inside, and what do you see in the way of cracks if any?
How level does the slab appear to be, if covered? What if you roll a marble across it if it's a smooth floor?
Have you asked the inspector to come back and look at the bulge? Where is the bulge, outside wall or inner?
Wood structures have a lot of room to move and are usually pretty forgiving of minor settling, swaying, sagging, racking, and so on.
It's possible some or all of this is from the tree crashing into the roof too.
Talk to neighbors too about any similar stories, especially if their houses were built by the same builder.
