Always smokes a little when it cranks, but now smokes a lot for a couple of minutes . Then blue smoke clears up. Runs great. Kohler has plenty of power. What's the problem valve seals, breather or what

Had several these come in when I was at John Deere.
Oil seeps by the valve guides when shut off , gets into cylinder and smokes at start up.
Kohler said to park uphill ,really that's what's they said.
The fix is replace the valve guides .
