I have been feeling weird since my last cycle. I had unprotected sex twice within a week before my period was supposed to come(January 24 and 28th, period was supposed to come on the 29th, came on February 6th). My cycles have been messed up for the past 6 months. This period was lighter than normal, but a steady flow every time I used the bathroom. It looked like the blood was a little diluted, but it was red and brownish, and sometime I wouldn't bleed for a while, then bled again, all this for 6 days, 1 day shorter than my regular periods. I started having sore breast about a week after the unprotected sex and a week before my "period" came, and a couple of days before my period I started getting nauseous, which is all normal pms symptoms for me, but this time they didn't go away when my period started. My period finished February 12, but my breasts are still sore (bruise like pain) and I get nauseous when I wake up and every time I eat something. I tested on the 22nd, and as soon as the test started absorbing it, it started showing a VERY faint line on the result window, which means positive. I tested in the middle of the day. I tested first morning urine yesterday, 23rd, but it was negative. I have heard of evaporation lines, but from what I read they appear after the 10 minutes time line, when the test is drying out already, not within the first minute or two. Also, when I am pregnant I usually bleed when I have sex, which also happened last night after being with my husband. Could I be pregnant and my hormones just be too low to detect them? I have an appointment with my doctor but is until 2 weeks from now.

Hi scarletorguid,

It sounds as though it might have been just a bit early to get a definite result. Usually, if you get a positive within the time stated on the test, it is a true positive... however faint.

Since you haven't been able to reproduce that result, maybe try another test in several more days. By that time, if you are indeed pregnant, you would likely get a more obvious result.
