I am 11 days late for my period, but negative HPTs. I have never had this happen, other than when I have been pregnant. I was not too careful with my BC pills for a couple of months, but last month I was very diligent. I have called my ob/gyn but they said if I had a negative HPT just start my next pack of pills. However, I am having headaches, diarrhea, a bloated feeling like I am about to start and increased discharge. However, nothing has changed in my life, no more stress than usual. Do you have any suggestions as to what this can be?

If you feel like it's a possible pregnancy, you might want to insist upon a blood test before beginning your next pill pack.

One other possibility is that by not being consistent with your pills (even if you were last month) your cycles could just be a bit off. It's pretty hard to say without seeing the doc and/or waiting it out.

Give it another week and see what happens. What you are feeling is common for many women right before a period starts. If you decide not to start the new pack of pills, be sure to use another form of birth control (or two other forms) until you know for sure one way or the other.

I spoke with a nurse at my ob/gyn's office and they advised me start my new pack of pills as scheduled, which I did. So I am guessing that will prevent me from starting even if I am not pregnant until I get to the inactive pills in this pack. I have taken a few more HPTs and they were all negative. At this point I am 18 days late and should be starting in about a week and a half. Guess I will just wait and see what happens.
