I have had my niece since she was 2 weeks old, she is now 5 her mother have been here to Pittsburgh once since I have had her and her father is in jail. I do have custody of her. I would like to get full custody of her. Her mother at the time was a prostitut and at that time she had given 2 other girls up for adoption,they were my nieces also. They ask me to keep her for a yr however they never did.she had another daughter after the one I have who is also my niece and she gave that one up also.she only keep her boys which she has all 4 in her custody.my niece knows of her mother but never seen her except for when she was one years old.its in my best interest to keep her un my custody because she is safe and knows nothing about her real mother.since I have had her she probably spoke to her real mother about 5 times.I want full sole custody and don't know how to go about it.I want the best for my niece and as far as she knows I'm mommy in her eyes.why hurt her by taking her away from the one person she knows. There is a reason she gave all her girl's up for adoption, and u refuse to give up on my baby girl without a good fight.

I would go for adoption. But to answer your question, you go to Family Court and file a petition for Sole legal and physical custody or adoption.
