Hi,

I recently inherited my grandmother's house. It is around 45 years old, give or take a year or two. I had been using the shower and the water was draining fine. However, it has started stopping up and it takes forever for the water to drain out. I've noticed that the tiles around the drain have come loose and most of the grout around them is missing. If I shine a flashlight down the drain, it looks very grainy and rocky, so I suspect the old grout has stopped up the drain.

I do plan on having the shower re-tiled in a few months when I get the $ but I'd like to continue using the shower until then. Is there anything I can do on my own to eliminate the grout clogging the drain? I'd really like to fix this on my own if possible.

Thanks!
