If I leave the state of Texas to go to California do you think me coming or going will be a problem? You think they will know I left the state?

Well now... You know you shouldn't violate your Probation or Parole but life goes on, huh?

The level of your "control" (unsupervised summary probation for a misdemeanor or supervised felony probation or parole) can make a big difference. How long are you planning to be out of Texas? If it's for a short period... and you won't miss any "reporting" appointments with your P.O... and you don't get in trouble out of state (not even a ticket for an illegal left turn)... and your P.O. doesn't decide to stop by your house for a beer while you're gone... maybe... just maybe you can get away with it.

What kind of fun can you have though... looking over your shoulder... worrying about what's going on back home and if you get in any trouble while you're on the road... will California extradite you to Texas on a hot stinkin' bus with Tri-State Extradition and only McDonald's little hamburgers to eat for 54 hours while they pick up someone in Colorado that's going back to Texas too.

If it were me... and it was me three years ago (from CA to TX tho)... I would GO FOR IT!! Be careful and have a good trip!

If you are required to report then yes they will know. The level of offense will dictate whether they will go after you. As soon as you miss a report, a warrant will be issued for your arrest. That warrant can turn up if you return to TX.

But at the airport will they know that I'm on probation? Will I be able to get back in Texas? I'm on a misdemeanor case. I only have 6 months of probation I already went to see my p.o yesterday for the first time. My thing is at the airport will I have any problems?

The fact that you are flying and a record of your passage on a commercial airline will be available (if someone were to check) indicates that you have violated the terms of your probation and depending on the court... you could be remanded to custody for as much time as your probation period has remaining. If you had a suspended sentence (probably not for a misdemeanor) you could have your probation revoked and do the full time that was originally suspended.

Is it a really important trip? If it's for "family" or employment reasons your P.O. might give you a pass.

Good luck.

Yes, they will know you are on probation, they may never say a word, BUT, if you get stopped in California and they run a record check they will want to see your permission to travel of they will inform your PO.

Your best friend may get mad, or your ex girlfriend or someone and just call them and tell them you are out of state

I'm scared to take the risk. It's about my uncle he has cancer so I want to see him, my friend that is also on probation had asked for permission and she told him no. He can't leave :/ so I'm scared they won't let me go because its family wise. I think.ima go. && when I get back I will let you know if I got caught or not. :( wish me luck.

If nienie_1091 doesn't answer, that would have to indicate one of two things:

they caught her/him and he/she is in the pokey and't can't respond; or
nienie isn't a frequent reader at the AMHD.
