I have recently bought a 2000 dodge durango and something is seriously wrong! It will start dinging and the 'check guages' light will come on and the battery voltage will show 0. About 15 min later, my speedometer, fuel, oil, EVERYTHING will show 0. Then the lights will get dim and if I don't stop, it jerks real hard just 1 time. I shut off the vehicle and I have to then get jump started. I bought a new battery for over 100 dollars and the altinator was checked and it was running at a 14. What else could be wrong :(

If warning lights (e.g., battery, ABS, SRS, or others) start appearing in concert with one another on the dash, immediately suspect the alternator.
I suspect the alternator's brushes are worn down too far. Additionally, regulated battery voltage of 14 volts is marginal--it really should be closer to 14.5 to 15 volts. Install new brushes or a new alternator and your problem should be solved. MOPAR alternators are easy to rebuild.

You may need to have the vehicle's PCM tested since that is where the voltage regulator is located. These are notorious for PCM/Charging system faults.
