Depends on what your parents say.

If they're okay with the two of you dating, and nothing else, then it's not illegal. It's immoral, in my opinion, but that's about it.

If the two of you are sexual in any way, or your parents don't agree with the two of you dating, then it's illegal.

I have to ask. What does a 25 year old adult have in common with a 15 year old child?

There are no laws governing dating, but what does an ADULT have in common with a CHILD is another question entirely..

As noted, there are no laws that cover dating. Is this a relationship you just dream about or has this 25 yr old made any indication of being interested in you romantically?

The fact is that a 25 yr is unlikely to be interested in a 15 yr old for anything other than sex. And such a person is likely to be sick and a pervert.

Have you talked to your parents about this?

I know you are mature for your age... we hear that all the time, but what do the two of you have in common? Is he still in high school too?

What do the two of you have in common? He's an adult, you're a child. What can the two of you possibly have in common? You're in school, he's hopefully working, or in college.

I was married at 24! He's old enough to be married and have children of his own. You're not even old enough to vote. You would even have trouble finding a job as most places won't hire anyone under the age of 16.

If your dad would flip out, then you have your answer. If your parents aren't okay with their child dating an adult, then you can't legally date.

Aren't they all? I was mature for my age too, until I actually became mature. Then I realized how immature I actually was at 15.

Where does she say that?

She hasn't yet, but they all do. And for some reason I don't have smilies any more!

Where does she say that?

She really doesn't have to WG. We all know it's coming. That's the only way she can justify dating an adult.

She either has to tell us that she's very mature for her age, or he's very immature for his age.

She's 15. We know the M.O. off by heart by now.

I was going to ask about that!

Did they get rid of the smilies?

I can't find them. I thought I'd lost them.

I can still do the happy face with : ) or the frowny with : ( but for the others I need the list, and it's gone. :(

Doesn't matter if he's 24 or even 18. He's still an adult, and you're still a child, or are you actually 18 and not 15?

If your parents say no, it's not legal. Even if they say yes to you dating, that doesn't mean they condone or agree to a sexual relationship.

You already said that your dad would "flip" so you have the answer to your question. You cannot legally date this guy.

He is working I have a job and he isn't seeing anyone I just asked a question if it's legal or not and I'm not saying I like the guy like that he is a good friend and we just were talking about this . And I don't need all this stuff about me being posted and yes I am very mature for my age I have been through some stuff that most people haven't and we both play volleyball competively and he helps train me and our families are very close so shut up I was asking a question it's a crush that any girl would have if they saw him he was there for me in a rough time and by the way he is a college graduate I just asked a question

They haven't ever agreed and I asked if it was legal or not for someone of my age to date someone of his age I will be turning 16 in a month or so and I was just asking

By the way I never said it would be anything to do with a sexual relationship I was just curious if it's legal or not

yes I am very mature for my age I have been through some stuff that most people haven't

Oh geez, BOTH the mature for my age AND the been through stuff most people haven't. We hit the jackpot!

What you fail to understand is that we adults have been through it. We remembers how mature we felt as teens. And remember learning a few years later how wrong we were.

and we both play volleyball competively and he helps train me

This makes it worse. Since he is in a position of authority over you, the law would come down even harder on him.

But I'm going to assume this guy is more mature and smarter than you. And that if he found out you had a crush on him, he would distance himself from you because he doesn't want to go to jail.

I hope the guy is mature enough to know you are jail bait, and will be next year also, no matter how mature you are now, or what you have been through before.

LMAO! You're mature for your age and been through stuff most people haven't? Want to compare pasts? I bet I win in the "been through stuff most people haven't" category, and I can tell you, even after having been molested from the age of 5 and for years after, I still wasn't mature at 15. If anything, my experiences, which include being raped, beaten, and more, made me less mature, and more willing to do stupid things that weren't good for me. So don't try to play that card with me. I've actually lived that life.

You asked if it was legal, we answered. So what more do you want to know? Why are you arguing about it? If your parents don't want their 15 year old dating a 24 year old, it's not legal. Asked, answered, done.

All I wanted an answer for was if it is illegal for a 15 yr old to date a 24 year old and I don't have to explain what I have been through to you I am not going to date him and I was just curious if it was legal gosh!!

No you don't have to explain what you have been through. You brought it up we didn't.

But when someone asks such a question, there is usually a reason behind it. In any case your question was answered. You're welcome.

And we told you, over and over again. So much for maturity. You don't even read the answers that are given to you. We answered your question multiple times.

Also, what you've been through, good bad or ugly, doesn't make you mature. I would know. Maturity can only be gained by gaining wisdom, and accepting that you don't know as much as you think you do.

When you're older and actually become mature, you'll see how immature you are now.

Good luck to you. In 10 years come back and read what you wrote today. I'm sure you'll have a completely different outlook on it. :)
