Child welfare placed my kids with their grandma and granted her full custody and guardianship. I am ordered to have supervised visits for the next six months. I would ultimately like my kids returned with me but I have another case going on with cps with my child that is in my physical custody. My four yr old child was put up for adoption and I have appealed through special appeals of Maryland. I have also appealed the current case for my newborn who is in my custody. I am currently in a shelter getting services to become self sufficient, but ultimately I want all my kids back with me. Any suggestions?

Talk to your case worker. Find out what you can do to get your children back. Then do it!

But the case is closed through child welfare. I have to go through family courts now and the grandmother is already giving me a hard time already. She is hitting my kids and very inpatient with them. And she complains already that she doesn't want to care for them and shows it through aggression. I know for a fact she is using them for the check through statements she has made and she was the reason they did not return to me. She showed up to my visit and said my daughter was abused in foster care called me a bad mom, and said if I cared I would take them ridiculed me I front of them. Ans I was fearful that they were abused. I took them. At the time I had overnite weekends at my home and was a couple months from reunification. But because of taking them cps changed the plan, and gave her custody with question to her motives that day the incident happened. My attorney told me to wait at least a yr. before filing to regain custody, but she also told me geandmas opinion of the kids returning home will play a huge part in what ever decision the judge makes. I don't want this to turn into a nasty battle, but at first she said she wiukd sign my kids back over to me and now the money and control seems to be getting to her head.

You have an attorney, then listen to them. They will tell you how to prepare so when you do go to court, you have your case ready.
