I have a friend, and her mom and brothers treat her like if she was a maid or something. Her mom is out most of the time, and the mom rarely cleans the house, instead of the mom helping, she tells her daughter to clean everything, cook, and bring food to her mom. Also, the girl's school supplies were bought by her boyfriend since her mom said that supposedly she didn't have any money, and the girl still hasn't paid any of her classes. Her mom goes out to clubs almost every Saturday, and sometimes leaves the children with no food in the house so they go to their aunts house to eat. And her mom also hasn't taken her children to the dentist, nor the doctor for checkups. Would this be an unfit mother? And if so, can her aunt take custody? The dad is in jail, so he's out of the picture.

Its not up to us to determine if she is unfit or not. From your description she does sound neglegent. But that is through your description. The only way to tell with any certainty is to have it investigated by the children's department in your area. In some areas also known as CPS ( Child Protective Services )

Only the Children's Protective Services ( social services) can decide. They can report this to the state and let them investigate.
1. making a girl or boy ( depending on age) do all or most of the housework is actually normal in many families or cultures, If mom works and there is no dad in the home, guess what, kids do most if not all the house work.
2. Many families are low income, and they can not pay school fees, or pay for lunches or buy school supplies. There are charities that provide those, They need to talk to the school office about their needs.
