My husband was a Macon Police officer he just got terminated for felony theft by taking because a television set was delivered to our home by mistake by UPS and he decided to keep it against me warning him and begging him not to do it. They not only arrested him, they arrested me for the same charge because I live in the home and they said I am just as responsible even though my husband told them I knew nothing and he took all the blame. He was a very highly respected police officer loved by his peers. He has no blemishes or discipline on his record with the department. I am so confused as to what is going to happen and with him losing his job (he was suspended for five days pending termination)he has his meeting with the deputy chief next week. Can he qualify for first offender? There are so many thing that have been said in the media and by others involved that are completely fabricated and we have proof. We can't afford an attorney now and I am desperate to know how we can get out of this.
