I have a beckett model AFG oil burner, periodically I will find the house cold and that the unit had tripped. I would reset the trip and it would fire off and be fine for a while. Recently when I hit the reset, the blower and the fuel pump started but there was no flame but I could smell oil in the furnace. I cleaned the filter, checked and cleaned the ignighter, and tested the ignighter transformer with no luck. Sometimes it works perfectly fine though. I am quite confused. I have had people come in to look at it, of corse it runs fine then, but no one can seem to find anything wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
