PLEASE HELP.

I finished high school in June last year. I got on specially well with a guy in my class. We laughed a lot and confided in each other. In January last year my feelings toward him started to change. Anyway, nothing happened till our last school trip where on a drunken night out a classmate said "if I were you I'd kiss him now". It looked as if he was going to, but I vomited.

Anyway I later told him that I USED to like him to which he said "why didn't you tell me?". He promise me that if it should ever happen to you again "you'll tell me". He later asked me about it, and I told him that I still liked him. He said that he felt the same way, that we had a lot in common, etc. And that we'd see what would happen. From that moment on he started avoiding me, and the once regular evening texts progressed to occasional ones. Even though he was avoiding me he invited me to go out with his friends, which I did.

Nothing more happened till our graduation party where I told a friend that I still liked him but that I thought that he didn't anymore. This friend told him and he reacted by coming over and kissing me. He said that he cared about me and that he was sorry if he'd hurt me. A couple of days later we went out again, alone at first then we joined his friends. When saying goodbye he kissed me again. I asked him (seeing that I was leaving for 2 months) if there would be an us when I got back. He said that he didn't know. I texted him a couple of times during the summer and he always replied except to one text where I said that I missed him.

When I got back from my holidays I bumped into him a couple of times and he seemed happy to see me; he kept hugging me, but later as soon as he saw me he'd get a really sad expression and leave. I didn't text him for 4 months until I once happened to be in the same city where he studies. We met up and again he seemed happy to see me; he kept teasing me and making me laugh. On this occasion I even found out that when I was in that city a couple of weeks earlier a common friend texted him saying that he wanted to hang out (in reality wanting to surprise him by me being there). He never texts first, but when I do he says he's happy to hear from me and when he sees me with his friends he completely ignores me and speaks to me only when we're alone. Where do I stand? Does he still have feelings for me or is he over me and just trying to be nice?

P.S: If it matters:

He's never had a girlfriend and is still a virgin nobody's ever seen him kiss a girl apart from me.

Ask him how he feels, but first... decide what YOU want. Then act accordingly.

You should ask him.
He may have a girl friend or maybe he just wants friendship with you, but you won't know unless you ask what's going on with him.

The truth is,that although I keep saying to myself that I have to move on I still hope that something will happen. But I don't really want to talk to him about it because I'm scared of making even more of a fool of myself bringing it up again nearly 8 months later.. Another thing that keeps running through my mind is that he's generally a very nice person to everybody, so that he might just be trying to be nice to me (even though in public settings he quite simply avoids talking to me, but I have noticed that he looks at me a lot when he thinks I can't see him)

Just go up and talk to him, just general conversation. Maybe you could get an idea of where his head is.

Either speak your peace or forever wonder if it could have been more that occasional friends.

Ok, so I saw him again recently.. There was a high school reunion where at first 2 boys (friends with him) thought that he wouldn't show up,giving me sidelong glances. Yet, he turned up and spoke to everybody, even to people I know he doesn't like, apart from me. I was hurt by it, we always used to talk. When it was time to go I just walked away, not feeling to say goodbye. Right then he decided to call my name in the street, run after me, dive me a hug and say "see you next time". A couple of days later I saw him walking with another girl on the other side of the road, and whoever she was she started pointing her finger at me. He started calling my name but I pretended to not hear him and turned the music up on my iPod. Then that very evening a few of his friends were staring at me, and I heard one saying to a girl I'd just spoken to "do you know who that girl (me) was?" I don't get it,everybody seems to know who I am and what's happened between me and this guy. What do you think he wants now? Sometimes he's friendly with me, and other times he ignores me.It's been a year.. Please give me your opinion, I'd really appreciate it.

I have no idea but the previous response still stands.
If you have a way to contact him, ask him out for coffee and ask him what is going on, get all of this off your chest once and for all.

If a guy doesn't chase you, and you are afraid to take a risk and talk honestly, then there can be nothing happening. Ignoring a guy, instead of acknowledging him, is a sure sign on your part that you have no interest.
