My landlord recently had the ceptic tank cleaned and told me not to do laundry this week until the chemicals did their thing... whatever that means. So I didn't do laundry, but that same day in the evening I used the dishwasher. Does that count as "laundry"? I am being told that I shouldn't have used that. So my questions are did I do something to the chemical process by running my dishwasher?. and do you have to wait several days after a ceptic tank is cleaned and chemicals are added before you can use the washing machine or dishwasher?

Its septic and I am afraid your landlord just doesn't understand what is going on with the tank. No waiting needed after pumping a tank, your dishwasher did not do anything to hinder the tanks operation. No chemicals are added when pumping the tank. Some folks do buy bacteria packets but most all of us will tell you it's a waste of money.

Thank you! That's what I thought. The "Landlord" is actually my boyfriends Brother... LOL amd he said he had some chemicals put in after it was pumped and told us we had to wait (this was done on Monday) 4 days until we can do laundry so I thought nothing of it by running the dishwasher but he considers in his world the dishwasher to be laundry also. I thought I might entertain all with my little story... so now the brat is mad because he thinks everything is ruined and his money is wasted... LOL.
