I live in a flat and I did sign an agreement that I understand that no pets allowed. But when I met my husband he had a large dog. They moved in 4 years ago and we have never hid the fact that we had the dog. It goes out 3 to 4 times a day for a walk to the big park just across the road from us. He is never left alone as I work days and my husband works nights. There are 18 flats in our block and others in the block have pets of some form. Now the free holder wants us to rehome our dog please help someone.

Your only recourse is to show that the dog has resided there with the landlord's knowledge for several years. Tell the freeholder that they missed their chance by not taking action immediately and that you will fight it if they take you to court. You may not win, but its your only chance.
