I have a Carrier 58STA090. The house started smelling like burnt plastic. HVAC guy came out and said I needed a new capacitor and blower motor. He showed me the capacitor was out of range and a burnt spot on the blower motor. I purchased an identical blower motor and capacitor online and installed it myself. It's hard to mess up the wiring... So I think I did that right. When I turned it on the indicator light flashed 24 which indicated I needed a new fuse. Put a 3V fuse on and indicator light flashed 33 (Limit Circuit Fault). I tried to test the limit control with a multimeter to check for continuity. I couldn't tell anything or if I was doing it right. I decided to turn it back on and it blew a fuse again... And then again. Help! It's cold. Outside. I'm assuming I have a short somewhere, but don't know where to start or tell if I have one.
