Hi, I've torn out the old ***** floor that was over concrete. A pan or liner was never installed at construction time. My home was built in 1967. The 2" drain pipe is only 3/4" above the concrete floor. I feel I need a pitch foor to install a liner over. However, the heigth of the drain won't allow for that. How to I attach to the old drain pipe to elevate it? Or can I lay the liner over the flat floor and build my pitch base over that. Also, How to seal the liner around the old drain pipe?

Thanks, Gary.

I'd suggest you look into using the Kerdi shower pan system.Schluter-KERDI-SHOWER-KIT - Schluter-Systems (http://www.schluter.com/8_4_kerdi_shower_kit.aspx) It is water tight, raised and pretty easy to install even for someone with little experience.

There is a decent article with a good diagram of the shower pan process at the following site: WestCoastShowerPans.com (http://westcoastshowerpans.com/shower-pans-blog/shower-pan-purpose)
