I'm looking to hardwire a set of puck lights that are meant to plug in. I was told buy an electrician that if I buy insulated 18 gauge wire, I can replace the 18 gauge that comes with the set (getting rid of the plug) and hook it up directly to a switch powered by 14/2, then run the insulated 18 gauge inside the walls... The sound about right to anyone?

Thanks.

No, this does not sound correct.

The product has been designed and tested to be used as a cord and plug device.

And, to add, #18 wire nor cord is not allowed to be installed within structure.
