Does anyone know the name of the nut on the back of the motor that the belt runs on? Mine has stripped and fallen off. I can't seem to find just the nut to buy.

What is the bolt on the back of a dryer motor? I have a maytag.

Take it to a hardware store and they should be able to match it. I don't know any special name for it, but it wouldn't help anyway.

Thank you , I fixed it , but now I'm having a heck of a time trying to figure out how to loop the belt on .

Look for bolts on the pulleys that the belt loops around. Loosten them so that you can put the belt back on - and then "push them back out" so that the new belt has the proper tension.

OK , ( yes I'm blonde ) here's my problem... I have been looking at videos and pics online on how to replace the belt , but all the pulleys and stuff is backwards from my dryer . Looking at the thingys the belt goes on , the motor one is lower right and the springy thing is to the left higher, how in the heckel am I supposed to make the belt loop through them both to have a purpose , does that make sense?

Take the motor to the hardware store. All you have to do is to unplug it.

You may have to slip the belt through an opening and apply pressure to the take up pully and wrap around motor pully.
Or apply tension to the pully to maybe see the threading.
