My daughter is at the final stage (Phase II) of her braces. Her doctor was going to take off her braces when I brought up the problem that I see in her. She has now protuded lips, gummier smile and her lips don't meet. I have taken her to different orthodontontist for second opinions. Two of them suggested jaw surgery and one of them suggested that she continue the treatment, have her canine extracted and have her wear a headgear.
The other doctor (second opinion) said that by doing that she would have a gummier smile and her lips probably won't close right.
Her original doctor said he'd continue the treatment extracting her canine.
I forgot to mention that at Phase I of her treatment she wore an expander (someone said that the expander made her have the protuded look)
Has anyone have a problem like mine. HELP!!

I didn't have such a problem, but I would suggest that you seriously talk to the orthodontist. He really must do something about it! Just don't let him remove her braces before fixing this problem...

Consult with several orthos and weigh what they say against what the original ortho is saying. If you and your daughter are not happy with her results, you need to tell the ortho doing the work and stress to him it needs to be fixed. If he won't fix the problem, switch to someone who will!
