Make sure the computer is shutdown and not sleeping, then reboot. Check to see if the caplocks key is pressed on newer Apple keyboards it will be a green light on the Caps Lock Key. If you have a wireless keyboard replace the batteries.
Here is how to reset the password (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1274).

When the computer stars up normal it started up in safe boot. Why I don't know... I turn it off then back on and then put it in reboot mode... the cap lock is not on as the light isn't on... I do not have a wireless keyboard... I have forgotten me password.. there os so much stuff on there I need... I have also read not to buy disk as sometimes it doesn't work and you waste 200 dollars...

Your computer was shipped with a OS install disk and an applications disk that will restore your computer but not your files. The OS disk also includes a few utilities like the password reset.
Starting in safe mode is usually a sign of some corruption in the OS, or a stuck key on the keyboard.
First try a different keyboard a USB PC keyboard will do. Shutwdon the computer switch the keyboard and reboot.
