I have a 02 Chevy Venture that won't start once I turn it off and try to start it again. We tested the fuel injector, fuel pump, starter, battery, plug wires, plugs and so many other things and still can't find the problem as to why it won't start. It does turn over with the lights, radio and dinging noise but refuses to start, so I know it's not the battery. It's been doing this now for approx. A year but now it won't restart at all once I turn it off. It seems once the engine gets warm I can't start it. I literally get stranded for hours trying to start it when out running errands. I have to leave it running when I go anywhere!
I've been researching for awhile now and it seems like it could be the security system/Passkey system acting up. Could you tell me if this sounds like my problem. If so, could you tell me what to do to check to see if it is. If you need me to let you know anything else that it's doing, please let me know. I'm so frustrated and really appreciate your help in finding the problem before I put any more money into this vehicle, just to find out that wasn't the problem part.

Plug your existing coil packs into a new Ignition Control Module (ICM) and your problem should be solved. Bench testing this component is virtually useless, since it does not simulate the intense heat this problematic component is subjected to. I recommend replacing ICMs every 120,000 miles or 10 years, whichever comes first.

If the problem persists, test/replace the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor.

I have a 2002 chevy venture and sometime won't start when I turn it off for 30 min and then try to restart the van and it won't start. What could cause it not to start. Well I know. V V V V V V V V V V V V Vapor Lock! Yes, it is about time somebody has figured it out. The gas lines are running right over the hottest part of the engine and will cause the gas lines to vapor lock. That is why when the engine cools down the van will start right up. Rap up the gas lines and it will work the better the rap the better it will work.
