How do you get rid of a runny nose? I have a horrible cold.

Find a good over the counter medicine that is for the runny stuffy nose. Something like benadryl or sudafed. Since you have a cough with that - finding a cough syrup that works for the cough, congestion, etc. like Robitussin (they have many varieties). If you do not like the syrup, try Mucinex ( there again there are many varieties). Jump in the shower and steam yourself. Do you have a humidifier? There are cold and warm air humidifiers, some with built in reservoirs to add something like Vicks liquid for humidifiers.

What are you taking for vitamins? Vitamin C is a good cold fighter. Echinea would not help you now that you have the cold - but it work in the pre cold stage.

Drink lots of fluids - water, juice, broth. Not pop. Herbal tea is good, like chamolile. There are even herbal teas for chest congestion. Tylenol for the body aches. Rest your body.

Thanks. But I have a worry: Can medicine expire?

Most drugs do not expire, syrups and things can coagulate and things over time. It's always smart to play it safe.

Oh, I didn't know that. Hey, uh, I have a strange feeling in my throat as if there's a piece of food stuck there. I tried to "swallow" it. I miserably failed. I use liquids. It didn't work either. What is this callled and how do I get rid of it?

Is there a piece of food stuck there? I mean did you eat a piece of food, and then it felt like it stuck there, or did the feelign just appear without you eating food?

The feeling was there without eating anything.

You're not feeling anxious or anything? - like you sometimes get a lump in the throat when you are upset?

If not then it might be worth seeing the doctor, it could be inflammation of the throat.

Is a runny nose the same as a stuffy nose or is there a difference?

It increases humidity

Sorry dear, but drugs do indeed expire and should never be taken past the expiration date.
