Since you have a crank but won't start situation, based upon your description, keep in mind that over 90% of these situations are electrical related, not fuel. Did you use a test light or multimeter to test for power through the fuses? In Texas, it's common for serious corrosion to form on under hood fuses--remove and clean with abrassive cloth. Have you checked for codes? Have you cleaned the main PCM ground? Have you ever replaced the Ignition Control Module (ICM)?

Well what we just did because the fuel pump is not making a humming noise but it does make one click could it be that it has gone bad

First, remove and clean the fuse going to the fuel pump and remove and clean the contacts going to the fuel pump relay. Be sure to disconnect the negative battery cable before beginning work.

If you haven't been replacing the fuel filter every 30,000 miles, or if you allow the fuel tank to get real low, the fuel pump may have burned out--not common, though.
