I am pregnant and I keep having these dreams that won't stop,
The one I have the most is someone breaking my water or it just breaking and I am in a hospital bed screaming for someone to take it out and they just stare at me. Another dream I keep having is that I have my baby and when I rock her back and forth her eyes flash like the doll eyes do when you move them and then I feel like its not real that someone took my child. I also have a dream that I start bleeding and I wake up crying and screaming with all of them. I been having them 4 months straight now so if anyone can help me figure out what they mean that would be amazing cause I am going crazy.

Hey - from your descriptions, here are my interpretations:

1. I'm guessing that you are a first-time parent? It seems as if you are fearing a loss of control over your situation. Prenatal medical care providers will run you over with the paternalistic attitude.

2. Are your health care providers treating you like a piece of meat or just another cog in the machine? Do they seem like they do not care? That could be a trigger that is causing the nightmares.

3. From the baby doll nightmare - if you are in conflict with your family or you lack support for your pregnancy - this nightmare might be a result.

What I would do if I were you, and I am suspecting that you're a first-time mother who is young, is take out a day and plan the rest of your pregnancy and develop a birth plan, and recruit people you absolutely trust WITHOUT FEAR to be there as your advocate. I would check out your situation and see if there is any risk of social services being called (such as: young age, conflict with medical provider, community objections to your pregnancy, single parenthood, etc.) and try to consult with Legal Aid and ask about your RIGHTS as a patient and new mother.

If you are in an active conflict with, or just have that BAD nasty fear / vibe when your OB/GYN staff are with you - run as fast as you can to one you trust who will not run over your rights.

I have been there myself :) Need more info? Message back.

It is not at all unnatural to have exaggerated emotions, cravings, fears, dreams, etc. during pregnancy.

Most of what you've said sounds like fear. Fear of maybe having the baby, fear of not being heard with your concerns, fear of something wrong, etc.

Tell your Doctor the next time you go, that you are having very intense dreams/nightmares. Perhaps he/she will have some expertise that will help.

I don't think too many mom's go through any two pregnancies the same way, so be leary of horror stories of others.

If you Google, 'are nightmares common in pregnancy', there were too many links to choose one, but I suggest you do a little research to help you understand this better.

Best of luck.
