What is the brand of IUD?
What country are you in?
Was the IUD removed, and when?

"Joy" is right - a LOT more info is necessary, especially the NAME of the IUD.

Legally here is something you would have to dispute by medical proof - "If you become pregnant with an IUD in place, your doctor will recommend that the IUD be removed. This is because the IUD can cause miscarriage or preterm birth (the IUD will not cause birth defects)." Intrauterine Device (IUD) Birth Control and Side Effects (http://www.webmd.com/sex/birth-control/intrauterine-device-iud-for-birth-control)

There have been lawsuits over birth defects and IUDs but as far as I can tell no one has ever recovered anything because the evidence is just not there.
