There's many films with similar plots, can you be more specific?

Yes, sorry that was not very descriptive. The move is in house and underneather the stair and all around in the house the creatures emerge at night and attack. They are aboout 6 inches tall but are very strong. THey took one occupant and dragged them away. The creature are small but they have large heads and are grotesque. I remember very little else other than I saw it more than 30 years ago. I remember it being very frightening but now probably would be funny. I remember them living under the steps. Sorry I do not remember much besides this. Thanks John

Oh, I know this one... know it real well...

Without a doubt it's Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0069992/) from 1973. I saw this made for TV movie when I was about 7 and it stayed with me for years. It was the scariest film I have ever seen. By today's standards, it's kind of weak but as a kid, it was terrifying.

There was also a remake of it this summer and it goes by the same name. It also is a great film, entertaining and a little creepy. I took my daughter to see it and she had the same reaction that I did to the original.

Hope this helped you out.

Thanks for the answer! Yes I saw it too in Pottsvile, PA when I was a kid and it stayed with me until this day. I would like to see it again. Is it available for purchase? Thanks again!

It is but it's been on a limited release for years. I found one site that you can get it from now since I guess they are cashing in on the remake... which, by the way, you should see if you get the chance to.

Here is the site for the original on DVD: WBShop.com (http://www.wbshop.com/Dont-Be-Afraid-of-the-Dark-SPECIAL-EDITION/1000180329,default,pd.html?cgid=)
