We have a habor breeze ceiling fan that was left in the house we purchased. The problem is it had a remote but previous owner took it. All we control is the fan from the wall switch but not the lights. We have it on 12 ft celings. I tried to look up remote for it but I need the model # from remote? Any suggestions?

One way or another you will need to get up there on a ladder since the remote receiver is inside the canopy. I'd replace the receiver and the missing remote with a universal kit or a factory harbor breeze kit. Amazon.com: Harbor Breeze Universal Ceiling Fan & Light Remote Control + Receiver, includes 9 Volt Battery #0103183: Explore similar items (http://www.amazon.com/Harbor-Breeze-Universal-Ceiling-Receiver/sim/B004FY4U3A/2) BTW the reason your wall switch controls the fan and not the lights is because when the owner left he had the fan set to run but the lights were off. The missing remote left that setting. I don't know if you used a realator or what but I'd be tracking down the previous owner. He owes tyou that remote or he must pay for your costs involve with its replacement. Yoyr purchase contract has some implied warranties about things need to be working if they appeared to work when you made the purchase.
