Hello Tax Experts,
I need help in understanding tax filling 2011.

I have been in F1 Visa OPT in years (2008,2009,2010 and till Sep'2011).
From Oct'11 my status transferred to H1B visa.

Tax filling 2011(single):
My status From Jan'2011-Sept'2011 (OPT) and Oct'2011-Dec'2011 (H1B, worked in same company and I have one W2 form.

So wondering to know
? How to file my taxes for year 2011
? What category I fall
? What forms I need to use

Thank you in advance

You will file as a non-resident alien, filing Forms 1040Nr or 1040NR-EZ PLUS Form 8843 ONE LAST TIME!

You CAN file dual-status if you want to wait until 1 June 2012 to file, but the tax refund would be the same, so why wait?

If you need professional help filing, double-click on my title and scroll down to my signature block, where you will find my email address.

If you are not married, you can file nonresident tax return and form 8843. You can claim tax treaty deduction since you have OPT income. Your U.S. Tax Return: The U.S. Visas (http://taxipay.blogspot.com/2008/08/us-visas.html)
