My furnace is blinking 7 flashes it's a Honeywell ultra v and if I turn off power it will try to start but 7 flashes means Lockout due to no ignition. What is wrong and what parts do I need to fix! Can I do this with out a repair man? Thanks!

Take the cover off the burner compartment of the furnace. Obtain the make and model of the furnace off the rating plate in the burner compartment and post it here.

Observe the sequence of events that occurs at the furnace when you turn up the thermostat and post that sequence of events in order and in detail.

Turn thermostat up, power switch on, goes to start, little igniter gets yellow then gas lights, then goes out, then gets yellow again then gas lights then goes out then this cycle happens about 4 times then furnace kicks out and indicator light blinks 7 times which my book says means... Locks out due to no ignition. If I turn off power and back it back in again it will repeat this same cycle again.

Honeywell doesn't make furnaces. It sounds like you have an Armstrong furnace Model G1N80

These furnaces have a Honeywell "Smartvalve" system which is prone to failure and often requires replacement of the gas valve which also contains the ignition control system. One of my least favorite systems.

What should happen is that the hot surface ignitor should turn on, then gas for the pilot light should turn on and light off the HSI. As soon as the pilot lights, the gas to the main burner should promptly turn on and light off the pilot light, and remain lit until the thermostat no longer calls for heat.

When you say the "gas lights", what do you mean? Is just the pilot light lighting or the main burner as well? Describe what is happening in more detail.

The little thingy gets yellow and the gas lights up but only in the front it does not ignite in the back main burners the front three ignite and burn but not long enough to light the back main burners. They kick off and in a few times until they completely kick out for good!

Sorry. You'll have to try again. I can't follow your description at all.

I figured it out. Thanks though. The igniter had carbon build up and I took sand paper to it! I cleaned it and put it back on and now everything is working fine.
