Anybody know what the guidelines are for grounding rods? I have an old house and am about the install a solar system, so I am expecting the inspector to bend me over with upgrades and new standards. My grounding rod looks a little small to me, and I was wondering if there is a chart for the size, and length of a rod depending on ? What I do not know.

Typical ground rod for a home service is 5/8" x 8 foot copper cladded rod.

Thank you sir,

The one that is installed is smaller than that so I will add another one.

You don't have to do anything with the existing service, unless you are doing any upgrades.
He CANNOT got looking for things to red flag that don't pertain to the solar installation.

Thanks Mr. Stanfortyman,

That makes sense. I will let you guys know how the install went. I hope to complete it in the next week or so, if the weather holds up.
