I took the because pill for a little under a month, and then waited about two weeks after and got the depo shot.. The shot was on dec 12(which means they gave me a pregnant test while I was there so they didn't hurt anything) , the last period I got was from dec 5 to dec 9.. I don't know if it is because I got the shot, but I have been sexually active with my boyfriend since nov19, and never used protection.. He pulled out, but yes there is precum, I know.. I don't want to take a pregnancy test, and lately I have been sick(like a cold) but on Tuesday I puked, and I already puked twice today.. I know my mom has/had the flu, and I'm hoping its just that,. I don't want to tell myself that I'm pregnant, I'm prolife, and not able to take care of a baby.. But I'm too scared to just go buy a pregnant test, because I don't want my mom to know.. Thanks for reading this! (:

Hi TayAndChan,

You may just be sick, or it could be from the depo shot itself. Since you had a period right before the injection, it is unlikely that you are pregnant. Certainly can happen, as no form of birth control is 100% effective, but odds are in your favor that you are not pregnant.

To give yourself some peace of mind, try a test. If you aren't pregnant, you won't have to continue worrying about it. If you are pregnant, then of course you would want to take steps to insure a healthy pregnancy.

The not knowing serves no purpose and will only cause you continued anxiety over the possibility.

Thanks, DoulaLC, its just I don't have the ability to go and get a pregnancy test very easy. I live in a small town, and the word would get out too fast. I don't know if I should consider going to see someone who's a nurse, but not while she's working(like just go to her house, she's a good friend of mine) but like I said, me being pregnant in my town would be like Michelle Obama getting pregnant, it's a big deal... Im just too scared to get one! Lol, but yes, it would be nice to know the answer

I can understand your concern. Would someone you trust be able to purchase a test for you? Or perhaps even better, would you be able to go to another town to purchase one?
